Landon's Blessing

We were able to bless Landon this past Sunday. Aaron gave a beautiful blessing, but was relieved when it was over. We scheduled the blessing early because my family was in town for Christmas. It was so nice to have some of Aaron's family, my parents and two of my three sisters there to support us.

Ethan said something funny to Aaron that I thought I would share with you. After Aaron finished the blessing and sat down with Landon, Ethan asked him if he was saying Dear Heavenly Fathers with Landon. Ethan calls prayers Dear Heavenly Fathers. It was pretty funny to hear him ask his daddy that. Two year olds are pretty hilarious.

I am very blessed to have a husband who honors his priesthood and two beautiful boys who I love so dearly. Thanks to all who could come and share this special day with us.

Christmas Eve/ Christmas 2009

We have had such a fun week. We started off by Christmas caroling with Aaron's family on Monday night. It was tons of fun and I hope we get to do it every year. Lizzy met us at Mike and Carolee's and came back up to our house for the week. My parents arrived Tuesday night so they could be here Wednesday morning when Ethan woke up. He was very excited and immediately wanted to play hide.
Christmas Eve was slightly different this year because we were at our own house. We started the day off with a big delicious breakfast of french toast, pancakes, bacon, eggs, orange juice, and fried potatoes. Later that afternoon my mom and I made pies, and rolls for Christmas dinner, and got things ready for cinnamon rolls that evening. We had a fun evening hanging out with each other, and Ethan loved eating Grandpa's Ritz crackers with cream cheese, and snuggling with him and Landon.
After our crackers we decorated ginger bread houses. Ethan pretty much ate all of his and Grandpa's candy, and Lizzy and Aaron had some structure problems, but it was tons of fun to hear everyone laughing and having a good time.

After cleaning up the left over candy that Ethan didn't eat we sat around the table to play some games, eat cinnamon rolls and drink hot chocolate. The cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate were very tasty.

Santa came and visited our little home, and boy was it a fun morning.

We had such a fun morning. Josie and Abu came later that afternoon, and Lizzy's boyfriend David also came for Christmas dinner. We had juicy roast beef and all the fixings. It was such a great day. I hope that everyone had as much fun as I did. Thanks for spending Christmas with us, and our cute little boys.

Heavy Snow

This past weekend it snowed on Saturday and pretty much all day Sunday. The snow was very wet and heavy, so Aaron was out multiple times to snow blow and shovel the driveway with Ethan's help.

We pulled out Ethan's old snow suit so he could go play with his daddy. It was a little short in the legs, so I think we will be getting him a new pair.
Aaron, Ethan and a neighbor made a huge snowman out of the dog house in our front yard. Ethan loved hiding inside the dog house.
Ethan stuck his little head out just a smidgen so I could snap a quick picture.

Oh Christmas Tree

Ethan and his Daddy decorated our 16 dollar Christmas tree this year. Ethan had such a fun time playing with the ornaments and looking at the lights on the tree.

It was fun seeing them having so much fun together. Aaron even let Ethan climb the latter into the attic. He loves doing everything his daddy does.

Do you think I should take back Ethan's Christmas presents and just get him a big box?

One year older and wiser to...

Last Sunday was my 28th Birthday. It was a quiet day spent with my little family and my mom. Ethan and Mom made me a marble cake with chocolate frosting to celebrate my special day and it was delicious. Ethan loved eating the batter and was a great help to his Grandma.
For dinner we ate ham and bean soup with biscuits and it was very tasty for our cold December day. After dinner Ethan helped me blow out my birthday candles. We did it three times because he loves it so much. It is very fun to celebrate a birthday with Ethan, his excitement is very contagious. I also opened gifts from my family. Thanks for the presents, cards and calls. I really do appreciate all the love and support on my special day.

First Bath

Landon had his first bath last night. Grandma has given both of the boys their first baths. We are taking it easy on the bathing with Landon just in case he has eczema issues like his brother.

Landon with his hat on after Grandma washed his beautiful little head.
Ethan loved playing in the sink with his boats while Landon got his bath. He was a little concerned when Landon started to cry, but understood that he was just crying because it was cold.

Fun with Grandma

Grandma Nelson arrived Monday and she has been playing non-stop ever since. Ethan has loved having his Grandma around.
They have been hiding, which is one of Ethan's favorite things to do.
They also made me delicious ginger cookies.

Grandma gave Ethan the candy land board game which he has really loved playing. It is so fun to hear them laughing together and having a great time.
They have also been reading lots of stories together, and watching Aladdin and Monsters vs. Aliens, which Ethan calls cookie monsters and Aliens Monsters inc. It is pretty funny to hear him ask to watch that movie.
It has been so nice to have my mom here this week. Aaron has been working some very long hours and it is nice not to be alone at night. We have been having so much fun together and Ethan has really enjoyed spending so much time with his Grandma.

Protective Brother

Ethan loves his baby brother. Every morning he gets up and asks to see Baby Landon. It is so fun to hear him say that.
The other morning I was feeding Landon and Ethan asked what I was doing. I proceeded to tell him that little babies get milk from their mommy's. He was very weirded out by it and told me that "that's enough". It was pretty hilarious.

Landon has jaundice. His bilirubin numbers were getting high so our pediatrician put him on lights that help get the bilirubin out of his system. He has to be on them at all times, which makes it difficult to snuggle him, but it is only for a couple of days.
I took Ethan with me to one of Landon's appointments to get his bilirubin levels checked. When the nurse came in Ethan was curious about what was going to happen. She poked Landon's heal and of course he started to cry. Ethan looked at me and then at the nurse, clenched his fists and told the nurse to stop hurting his brother. It was so cute, he kept telling the nurse to stop. I told Ethan that it was ok and to comfort Landon by petting his head and telling him that it's ok. He is such a good brother.

We sure are having a wonderful time with our new little man. I am glad that Ethan loves his little brother so much, and if you come to see him you will know why we all love him too.

Welcome Baby Landon

We welcomed Landon into the world on Thursday November 19th. I was very surprised that this little guy decided to come early, but I am sure glad that he did. I was planning on having Landon at Ogden Regional, but when I called them to let them know I was in labor and on my way I was informed that they were all out of beds. I started to cry and asked the nurse what I should do. She told me to go to Mckay Dee and that they would have to see me if they had room. Luckily for me they did. Things at the hospital progressed very quickly and with just 2 pushes he was out. Our beautiful baby boy weighed 7lbs 4oz, and was 20&1/4 inches long. He is beautiful and we are very blessed to have him in our lives.

Ethan was very excited to see Mommy, Daddy, and baby Landon. He is very gentle with his new brother and very protective.

Thanks for all the flowers, balloons, and calls of congratulations. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful support system.

I am a little tired, but for the most part I am doing 100 times better then when I had Ethan.

Happy Halloween

This year for Halloween Ethan was a Bumble Bee. He was so cute in his costume it was hard not to snuggle him all day. We were able to hang out with Nate and Devanie's family. Their church had fun games and activities planned for the kids and then a trunk or treat to follow.

Ethan and I both enjoyed eating delicious donuts :)

Ethan made a ghost out of a sucker and tissue paper. He immediately wanted to eat the sucker, which is his most favorite candy.

Ethan also had the opportunity to golf for candy. He needed to get the ball on the 10, which he did. Maybe we have a little Tiger Woods on our hands. I guess I should think about golf next summer instead of baseball. Either way his Grandpa Nelson would be thrilled.
We headed to the next room for a cake walk and instead were welcomed by the fire alarm. This was probably one of the best parts for Ethan and Zach. They were very excited to see the fire truck and all Ethan wanted to do was climb the ladder.

After the excitement of the fire truck we went around to all the cars to trunk or treated. Ethan knew exactly what to say and was super cute to listen to. It ended up being a very nice day and Ethan was to hot in his costume so we took him out of his bumble bee and went around in his regular clothes. I was a little sad/embarrassed, but he is still so little that I thought it was OK.

Ethan loved going in and out of Nate and Devanie's haunted house. It was such a cute idea.
Nate and Devanie, thanks for letting us come and celebrate Halloween with you and your family. We had such and fun time. I am glad that Ethan loves his cousins so much and how sweet they are to him.
