Pumpkin Carving Party 2008

This past Saturday was my family's annual Pumpkin Carving Party. I think it has been going on for about 20 years give or take a few. It was held at the Watko house. We had delicious pizza from Papa John's, Aaron's favorite, and cookies that I brought and donuts from Kathy that everyone LOVED!!! We carved and painted pumpkins until everyone was ready to eat. The kids all played outside together and Ethan had a wonderful time going from the garage into the house and back out again. Everyone was anticipating the arrival of Kathy and Dan. They finally showed up (Late) which seems to be their style. HEHEHE!! Everyone loved Kathy, and how could you not. Dan's brother and Dad told her some funny stories about Dan and Aaron did his best to tell some about her. All in all it was another fun family get together. We are so very bleesed to have two great families that love us. Even though my immediate family is not here my extended family treats me like one of their own. Thanks, Love you all.

Ouch!!

Ever since Ethan has become mobile I feel so sorry for his HEAD. When he first started to crawl I sware he hit his head 3 times within 5 minutes. Now that he is walking usually the injuries are a little worse. Yesterday, we were walking back to the car from our lunch with Denise and half of her kids. I was pushing the stroller and Ethan was walking by my side when he tripped over his feet and did a face plant on the sidewalk. It wasn't just him smacking his face, but he hit his face and continued to slide on his nose until he stoped. It was so sad!!! Now his nose is raw because his skin is still on the sidewalk at the mall, and he has a big bruise on his head to add a little more color :)

Cooking Dinner

I have to say that cooking dinner has to be one of the hardest things I do. It is mostly difficult because Ethan knows exactly when I am about to start and he begins his "whineing" and tonight was no different.
I was making sloppy joes (YUM) and Ethan was trying to wedge himself between me and the oven, so I did what any good mother would do. I tried to distract him!
ME: "Ethan, where is your shoe?"
Ethan: Looking down and then bending completely in half and pointing to his shoe.
Me: "Ethan, where's your shoe?"
Ethan again bending completely in half and pointing to his shoe.
Me: "Ethan, where is your sock?"
Ethan: Plops himself on the kitchen floor, pulls up his pant legs and points to his socks.
What a smart kid! After that he proceded to find my shoes and bring them to me, what more could a mother ask for :)

First Snow

Yesterday morning we woke up to it snowing out side our window. It was beautiful, but I am totally not ready for it to be cold yet.
Ethan was so excited to go outside that he just had to tromp through the snow, silly boy.

When we returned from church it started to become a blizzard. Ethan loves getting in our living room window, so we stuck him up there to see the snow flakes.

Abu, I hope you are getting ready for this :)

Sick Baby

Ethan is sick "AGAIN" I feel so bad for him. He has another ear infection, poor little guy. It is becoming a little frustrating having to go to the doctors all the time for this. He will be visiting his doctor in 10 days to make sure it is all cleared up. I will be asking about tubes, because with winter coming and him already having 4 ear infections this summer I can only imagine what it will be like. But on a lighter note, at least we have antibiotics and instacares to help our sick children when mothers or fathers love just isn't enough.

Addicted

I am offically addicted to Costa Vida's Sweet Pork Salads. They are so delicious!! I usually make Aaron take me there at least once a week. This week I had one Tuesday night and then again Wednesday for lunch. I think I have a problem, but I just can't STOP!!! Don't let Kathy tell you that Cafe Rio's are better because they aren't. If anyone is looking for a great salad that can fill them up and also make them feel good about what they ate then Costa Vida is the right place for you. Oh and if you need someone to go with I would love to offer my services :)
