Cousins

We are so lucky that these two baby girls are so close in age.  Lily was born 5 weeks before her cousin Aeowyn.  We thought for sure they would look a lot alike, but as you can see the only thing they have in common are their blue eyes.  We have had a fun time visiting Kathy and Aeowyn and having the girls be together.
I turned Lily on her side so she could see Aeowyn and she immediately started to "talk" to her.  It was the cutest thing ever.  She must have remembered her cousin from heaven and couldn't wait to start talking to her again.  Hopefully they will continue to be good friends for the rest of their lives.

First Day of Preschool

Wow!  I still can not believe that Landon is in Preschool.  Sometimes I still look at him and think "What! He is talking?"  He sure has grown up fast.
Landon was super excited to go to preschool, until he found out that Mommy wouldn't be staying with him the whole time.  Preschool orientation was good, except that he would not leave my side.  There are two girls and six boys in his class.  His teacher Miss Darcy seems to really know her stuff and Landon seems to like her.
With a week already into school he is still crying and holding on to me as I leave.  It is so sad to leave my little guy, but Miss Darcy says that he stops right after I go and is doing really well.  I sure do miss him when he is at school, but I am so excited for the many things that he is learning.

First Day of School

It is official.  Ethan is in first grade.  I can't believe he is going to school all day now.  He is growing up so fast.  He really likes his teachers and the kids in his class.
Ethan got to pick out his flame backpack and was so excited to take it to school.  We even put his flame key in there because Mommy accidentally locked him out of the house on his first day, and fell asleep, and didn't hear the door bell.  Oops! Sorry Ethan I won't forget even again.
Landon was excited for Ethan to go to school, but sad at the same time.  He kept asking me when we could go and pick him up.  They have become such good buds this summer.  They have a great time playing and it was hard for Landon not to have Ethan at home.
Ethan takes the bus to and from school every day.  I have to say that I love having him ride the bus.  He loves to ride his scooter or bike down to the bus stop ever morning.
I still can't believe my baby is already six.  He is doing so great in school and is coming far in his reading.  He seems to be doing a good job in Chinese and really likes his teachers.  Keep working hard Ethan and you can achieve anything.  We sure do love you!  Here is to another great year of school.

Lagoon 2013

This summer Aaron's work had a work party at Lagoon.  They had rented out the whole park just for its employees.  It was so nice not to have to wait in long lines to get onto the rides.
The boys had such a fun time riding on rides with their Daddy, because Mommy is to scared to go on them.
Ethan loved every moment of being on the rides, Landon was a little more concerned but whenever Aaron would tell him to smile at me he would put on the biggest smile I had ever seen.  He was being so brave for Mommy.

Landon's favorite rides were the helicopter and airplane rides.

We went on the train ride and saw all the animals that Lagoon has.  Landon was in heaven to finally get on the train.  He almost had a melt down because I told him we were going to eat before going on the train and that was all he wanted to do.  So instead of listening to him cry and be upset we boarded the train and had a great time before dinner.

Ethan loved ever ride and didn't seem scared at all.  I am so glad he is like his Daddy.

Sorry the picture is flipped.  Lily was so great to hang out with Mommy while the boys were having fun.
Before we left we had to ride the one ride I feel safe on.  We had a great time on the Merry Go Round.
It was such a fun evening seeing my boys laugh.  I hope we get to do it again next year.

Christopher Creek

While in Phoenix this summer we decided to get out of the heat for a day and head up to Christopher Creek.  Mom and Dad were so nice to arrange the cabins and treat us to a fun evening and afternoon.
The boys had a great time with Grandpa in the morning crossing the river and trying not to get wet.

Lily was such a good baby and slept till 8 am.  It was so nice.

The boys had a blast throwing rocks into the river/creek.

There were some fun places for the kids to play.  A mini house, and some old fashioned playground equipment.
Lily was in heaven snuggling with Grandma while the boys ran around and played.

Thanks Mom and Dad for such a fun time.  We will have to do it again soon.

Children's Museum

One of our favorite places to go in Phoenix is their Children's Museum.  They have so many places to play and explore.  This time we were lucky to have Josie come with us.  The boys loved showing her the massive tree house climbing thing.
I was also able to climb with the boys, but thought that I was going to get stuck and would never be able to get out.
Lily was so good just to hang out and watch her brothers run around.
Landon had a great time painting the rocket ship.
And who can forget the "car" wash?

Watch out, these guys are going fast!

Lily loved sleeping on Aunt Josie.
We went at a perfect time this year because all of the kids in Phoenix were already in school, so we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves.  What a fun afternoon.
We had such a fun time that the museum was closing up when we were leaving.  The kids were all exhausted that they all fell asleep on the way back to Grandma's house.
