Discovery Museum

We went to the Discovery Museum for Ethan's field trip. We went down with his cousins and his Aunt Devanie. It was nice to all go together. There were so many things to do and explore. The first area was a place with different colored balls and different tubes to put them in. The kids really had a great time in this area.

There was a music station, and a place to draw and learn about how movies are made. Devanie helped Ethan and Zach make a movie. They had a fun time moving their characters and picking the sound for their movie.

The helicopter was fun to see and play in. All of the kids were a little timid to touch the buttons and the control stick because it might "fly away", but we told them that it wasn't working anymore and that it was bolted to the ground.

Ethan and Landon loved playing in the construction area and also with the water. It was so fun to get out and try new things.

We had a great afternoon playing and learning about new things. We ended our afternoon with ice cream cones and then headed home. Ethan was the first to fall asleep and then Landon. We are hopping to return sometime soon.

Playing in the dirt

The weather has been wonderful here lately, and since we have a great big "dirt box" the boys have loved getting outside and playing in the front yard. Landon especially loves to be in the dirt and to play outside.

We were playing outside the other night and it was time to come in and eat a late dinner. While eating all Landon kept saying was "outside" and then he kept pointing at the door. Aaron asked him if he wanted to go outside and he got a huge smile on his face and started shaking his head up and down. Needless to say Aaron and the boys went back outside to play after they were finished eating.

We have started on the sprinkler system and I am hoping to have grass in our yard in the next three weeks. I can't wait!

Having fun

Since we don't have any grass and most of the time the yard has been muddy the boys and I have had to think of some things to do inside. They both have been really great at playing and running around inside. I love to hear them laughing with each other and making up things. I wish I still had an imagination like they do.

Landon loves to paint, play with play-doh, and throw the ball around the house. Ethan loves to play with his friends, action figures, and lego guys. For the most part the boys play great together and I am glad they have so much fun with each other. It is truly a joy to be their Mother.

Cupcakes

I decided to make cupcakes for our new neighbors that have recently moved in. I tried a new kind, it is called Hot Chocolate Cupcakes. It was fairly simple to make, but for some reason they didn't rise very well. The boys had fun helping us deliver them and they were both very excited to come home and eat one of their own.

The boys both loved them and I hope next time they will rise a little more.

Guitars

Aaron decided to trade in his Saxophone and get a Guitar. He loves it and tries to practice every night. It is fun to see him so excited about learning something new.

He also got Ethan and Landon this "guitar" to share. Ethan and Landon both love it. I really want my kids to play and instrument and I think the Guitar is a great place to start.

If anyone wants to rock out with our family we would love to have a jam session together.

Kangaroo Zoo

Last week we went to the Kangaroo Zoo with Wendy and a little boy she tends. It was our first time there. They have bouncy castles, and slides to play on as long as you want. Ethan loved it, but Landon wasn't to excited. Landon is terrified of balloons and this was kind of like that. It took him awhile to go by himself, and most of the time he made me take him up the ladders, but that was ok because I had a great time going down the slides with my little man, and racing Ethan to the bottom.

It is so much fun playing with the boys. Ethan has a great imagination and we were constantly running from Storm Troopers, or fighting off some sort of bad guy, or pretending we were camping and being chased by some wild animal, or riding down a river. It was truly an enjoyable afternoon. Both the boys were exhausted by the time we left and they both fell asleep in the car on the way home.

Thanks for inviting us Wendy. We had a wonderful afternoon and can't wait to go again.

Saxophone

We went to a music store the other afternoon so Aaron could show us a Guitar he is looking at. The boys really liked seeing all the different instruments, and the Guitar Aaron wants really is beautiful and has a great sound to it. When we returned home Aaron got out his Saxophone and "played" it for the boys. They loved it and wanted to try it for themselves. Ethan actually got sound out of it and Landon hummed thinking that he was playing it like Ethan was. It was so cute to see them taking turns.

I hope they want to play an instrument and that they love beautiful music as much as their Mommy and Daddy do.
