This is my baby Spike! Ethan got his hair cut today. He was very brave. Wendy, his sitter, took him while I was at work. The lady that cut his hair was very surprised at how well he did. He didn't cry or wiggle around. I love my little Spike and I hope you love him too.

Flying By
Ethan and I were dancing and cleaning to music today and the song "It wont be like this for long" by Darius Rucker came on. I really like this song. It made me stop and think about how fast life seems to be going. My little baby is not a baby. He is such a big boy and lets me know every day how capable he is of doing so many things. Live in the moment, and when things seem unbearable know that it won't be like this for long.

DISASTER
Bad things happen when Aaron is gone. Thursday after Ethan's tubes Aaron got called to leave for Andrews Texas immediately. He flew out that night and I thought things would be ok, but Friday morning Ethan slammed his head into the toilet getting a big bump/bruise on this head. The rest of Friday seemed to be normal. Then... Saturday it rained all day.
Sunday we got up and as I was eating breakfast I heard the sump-pump turn on. I ran down stairs and found the LAKE.
My foot prints filled with water.
The water outside of our sliding glass door.
Soaking wet towels going into the basement.
I immediately called Aaron and he called Chris Clark to come over and suck up the water. Chris turned the sump-pump outside on and then started in on the inside. Little did we know that the back bedroom was also starting to flood.
Chris called some other people to help and I am pretty sure the whole ward came over to help. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful ward family.
Kathy came up to keep me company and to help.
The men tore out all the carpet and put it in the garage to "dry" and the mats were thrown in the trash. A dozen fans were turned on in the garage and downstairs to help dry out the carpet and the concrete.
For some reason we couldn't get the water that was coming in the back bedroom to stop, so every 5 minutes or so we had to start the shop vac and suck up the water.Carpet attempting to dry in the garage.
We ended up putting in another sump-pump in the back bedroom, so that Kathy and I wouldn't have to stay up all night vacuuming up the water.
The concrete is pretty much dry now and there is no more water coming into the house. Even though this was a HUGE DISASTER I am so very greatful to everyone who came to help and for the many more who offered.
Aaron just also let me know that he will not be in Texas for 3 weeks. He is coming home Wednesday night :)

Tubes
Ethan got tubes today. Aaron took Ethan to the surgical center this morning. They played with blocks until it was Ethan's time to go back. He was such a brave little boy today. He wore his pajamas, sucked on his two fingers, had his blankie, and life was pretty good. He also took a ride in a wagon and didn't even cry when they took him back, but his Daddy almost did :)
Dr. Scheuller said that Ethan's ears were some of the worst that he has seen. We are excited to not have ear infections anymore and for his speach to get even better. Thanks Aaron, for taking care of our beautiful baby.

Breakfast
The other morning I had just gotten Ethan out of bed and we went into the kitchen where Aaron was getting ready to leave for work. I sat him down to get him a drink and he looked straight up at me with his big beautiful brown eyes and said: Na-Nugget? I looked at him, smiled, and told him that we were not having nuggets for breakfast.
We ran some errands that morning and when we got home I had to check my emial, so I put on a show for Ethan to watch. As I was pulling up my email he truned to me and said: Pissa? I started laughing so hard it was hard for me to breathe. It was only 10am. I had to gather myself, and tell him that we are not having pizza now, but that we could have some for lunch.
Maybe some day we will have chicken nuggets and pizza for breakfast :)

New loves
Ethan has two new loves. He still loves his frog blanket, but now he needs his puppies!
What have we created? I try not to let him take them out of his crib, but I had to snap a shot after we got him dressed. Really it is only one puppy, and a baby hippo that Aaron bought him when we went to the Denver Zoo.

Snow Snow and more Snow!
We have had alot of snow this season. We were lucky enough to have received a free snow blower from a women that I work with. Aaron has loved it and so have our neighbors. Aaron has been helping our neighbors because when I shovel I get out there before all the men and am still out there when they are finished. So Aaron has been helping the women in our neighborhood with their driveways, because he always thinks of me out there struggling. (what a good man :)
Ethan loves to go outside. We bundled him up in his broncos snow suit and went outside to play. Aaron worked on cleaning out the garage where my new freezer would go (I totally love it) and Ethan and I ran around the front yard. He was so cute that I had to snap a few shots.

There is something wrong...
There is something wrong when... it took me 2 hours to get home when it usually takes me 25 minutes.
Today it snowed like crazy!!! The plows weren't out so there were TONS on snow/ice all over the roads. People were driving like maniacs, and there were a million slide offs, role overs, and fender benders.
I eventually made it home, just in time to change Ethan's diaper and put him to bed. I hope everyone's evenings were better then mine.
